Sky Pillars- The Making Of...

It all started when my brand new Firecrest 16 ND filter arrived a few weeks ago.
Naturally all I wanted was to find the right time to hunt some clouds and shoot the sky :)
Unfortunately, spring was everywhere and the sky was clear blue for many days....

That cloudy Friday back in April was all I needed. I packed my gear and headed to the "Industry House" an old complex of offices and trade houses located on the coastline of Tel Aviv. The late 70' architecture style has drawn my attention and I wanted to shoot there for quite some time.

After touring around looking for interesting POVs and locations I found myself located in an emptied fish pool (you can imagine the looks on people's faces... )

I experimented with different exposure durations trying to find the advantages and limitations of this amazingly strong ND filter- it was so much fun I lost track of time :)

Well, it's post processing time.
Here is the sequence I worked with:

Here is a nice video loop to capture the process

Well, what do you say?
I'm excited to hear your thoughts and impressions and I will be happy to reply any question or request- just drop me a note in the comments below :)
